Just A Minute In June

Now that I've finally finished blogging about our trip to the USA, I'm hoping to get back into the swing of things. It's almost time to say goodbye to June so I thought I'd do a little update on life lately.

Reading...The Potato Factory by Bruce Courtenay, although it's taking me a while to get into it.

Watching...Friends! I've never actually watched the full series, having only caught bits and pieces when it's been on TV. I'm currently up to Season 3 and absolutely loving it. When I was younger I didn't find it very funny but I think that's because I probably didn't get the jokes! Such a great show. Ben and I are also watching the new season of True Blood which has been pretty awesome so far.

Eating...I feel like we've been eating out or ordering take-away a bit too much lately so I just did a massive grocery shop and stocked up for the week. I've just put a vegetable and chickpea curry on using my slow cooker (first time!) so we'll be having that tonight. It already smells amazing. For the rest of the week we'll be having things like pasta, burritos, veggie schnitzel wraps and homemade pizzas. Feels good to be stocked up and not have to worry about going to the shops every night.

Listening to...The new City and Colour album, a bit of Matt Corby and Of Monsters and Men.

Loving...The fact that Ben and I have been getting out a bit more lately, spending time with old friends and making new ones and also that we are feeling a bit more settled in Sydney. There are exciting things on the horizon for both of us :)

Hope you all have a great week ahead. Fingers crossed the rain stops in Sydney. Seriously...8 days and counting!!

Just A Minute In April

Reading...Memoirs of a Geisha. Yes I know I'm about 10 years late on this bandwagon but it's just one of those books I've heard so much about but never actually read.

Watching...Hart of Dixie. Don't judge me. You totally are! Ha. It's actually a lot better than I thought it would be and every now and then a gal needs some mindless entertainment in her evenings. Plus Game of Thrones (see, I'm not so bad).

Eating...Pretty well, actually! I've been having green juices for breakfast every morning this week (spinach, lemon, cucumber and apple) and vita wheat crackers with avocado and tomato for my lunches. We did a lot of juicing over the weekend at Mum and Dad's. The one pictured above has capsicum in it! Not as weird as it sounds, I promise, plus it had a lot of fruit in it (can't remember exactly what it was). It was actually quite refreshing. Tonight we're having soft tacos with crumbed spicy "chicken" (it's fake chicken but it's dang good). Also, I haven't had a coffee in 10 days!

Listening to...I made a mornings playlist recently which has some old school tunes from Ben Folds, Deathcab for Cutie and Sufjan Stevens and some newer stuff from the likes of M83 and The Black Keys.

Loving...Counting down for my trip to America (18 days!), sending hideous photos of myself to my siblings on snap chat (and receiving just as hideous ones in return), peppermint tea, waking up to daylight (thanks Autumn!) and discovering lovely new blogs such as this one.

Just a Minute in March

Reading...I just finished The Rosie Project and am actually not reading anything right now. I need a new book. Any suggestions?

Watching...The Walking Dead, New Girl and Girls are my weekly must-watch shows at the moment. I've also been watching bits and pieces of Smallville as Ben bought the box set.

Eating...We had a big Mexican feast for lunch on the weekend (above) but no surprises there as I've already confessed my undying love for Mexican multiple times. I was also taken out for Japanese in the city on Saturday and that was fantastic. Best Agadashi Tofu ever!

Listening to...I've been listening to a lot of Girl Talk on my way to work the past week. He definitely gets me in a good mood (as far as mornings go) and makes me feel like a gangster. Which I most definitely am not.

Loving...Little jars of fresh Baby's Breath on my kitchen ledge, cool Autumn mornings that turn into bright sunny days and late night fro-yo runs.

By the way, I'm selling some clothes on eBay at the moment in case you are interested!

Just a Minute in February

Beautiful flowers spotted on my daily walk to the train station. Snapped on my iphone.

Watching...The Walking Dead (finally back on after the mid-season break!), Parks and Recreation (catching up on season five), Girls and New Girl.

Working on...Work is crazy busy at the moment as this week I've had the deadline for the magazine I produce as well as a million other projects and events to organise. I am also doing a course from the US in online community management which meant I got up at 4am on Thursday to participate in an online discussion. Crazy, I know, but I'm really enjoying it.

Listening to...Fleetwood Mac (always), Grimes, Bombay Bicycle Club and Alt-J.

Reading...The Great Gatsby.

Loving...The fact that my parents are coming to visit in a couple of weeks, that I get to go to Melbourne on Monday, that it's only two and half months until my next America trip and...turkish apple tea.

This post was inspired by Amanda from Here Comes the Sun. Make sure you let me know if you play along!
